In this lesson, we will learn about some of the names and attributes of Allah (SWT) that He has given Himself or described Himself with in the Quran. It is important that we learn about Allah because by learning about Him, we will grow to love Him.
This lesson is meant to be completed slowly. Take your time and really try to understand what each name means. Reflect on how that affects your life and make changes every day based on what you learn. Use the names of Allah in your prayers, in your du’aa, and teach it to others.
Allah ﷲ
Allah is God, the only god. He alone is worthy of worship.

Ar-Rahman الرَّحْمَنُ
The name Ar-Rahman means The Merciful. Allah, Ar-Rahman wants kindness and mercy for all of his creatures. Think of a time when someone showed you kindness or mercy. How did that make you feel?
Now think of a time when you showed someone else kindness or mercy. How did that make you feel?
Can you think of a time when Allah, Ar-Rahman showed you mercy?
Al-Aziz الْعَزِيزُ
The name Al-Aziz means The Might One. No one and nothing can defeat Allah even if they all got together and tried because Allah has power over all things. Since Allah cannot be defeated, do you want Allah as your friend or your enemy? Why?
Since Allah is Al-Aziz, The Mighty One, can you pray to Allah to help you defeat those who cause you harm? Why or why not?

Al-Khaaliq الْخَالِقُ
The name Al-Khaaliq means The Creator. Allah created everyone and everything. He created you, your family, food, water, air, animals and the world.

Al-Ghaffar الْغَفَّارُ
The name Al-Ghaffar means The Forgiver. Allah forgives us if we are truly sorry try not to make the same mistake again, and ask for forgiveness.
Are you more likely to forgive someone if they seem really sorry? Why or why not?

Allah: Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One (Ikhlas 112:1)
Al-Ghaffar: But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance. (Taha 20:82)
Ar-Rahman: In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (Fatiha 1:1)
Al-Khaaliq: That is Allah, your Lord! there is no god but He, the Creator of all things… (Al-Anam 6:102)
Al-Aziz: And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. (Al-Fath 48:7)
